Complete your journey with local sightseeing and cultural experiences before heading back through Phuentsholing. A perfect blend of nature, heritage, and Himalayan charm.

Tour Plan

Day 1 - ARRIVAL AT BAGDOGRA / NJP –TRANSFER TO PHUENTSHOLING

On arrival at Bagdogra Airport - meet and greet by our local representative - transferred to Phuentsholing (Approx. 160km / 04 hrs drive). Phuentsholing (298Mts / 977Fts) is a small town at the Indo-Bhutan border. Evening at your own leisure. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

Day 2 - PHUENTSHOLING –TRANSFER TO THIMPHU

After breakfast our guide will receive you from your hotel and proceed to complete Permit process - check out hotel and proceed to Thimphu (Approx. 165km / 5hrs drive) via Chukha - Thimphu lies at an elevation of 2300m. Thimphu lies in a beautiful valley, sprawling up a hillside on the west bank of the Thimphu Chhu River and has a total area of about 1,809 sq. kms. Evening at your own leisure Overnight stay at Thimphu.

Day 3 - Thimphu Sightseeing (City Tour)

After breakfast visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue) a place for refreshing with a huge statue of Buddha on the top of the Kuensel Phodrang, National Memorial Chorten (Monument) & Folk Heritage Museum. Afternoon visit Sangaygang View Point, Changangkha MonasteryTaking Preserve Centre, The talking national animal of Bhutan can be seen here  Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion). Evening is free at Leisure or to explore local market by own. Overnight stay at Thimphu.

Day 4 - THIMPHU – PUNAKHA/WANGDUE -VIA DOUCHALA PASS

After breakfast checkout from hotel and drive to Punakha/Wangdue (70 kms / 2 hrs) - stop en route for tea at Dochu La Pass (3,100 meters), where on a clear day you can get spectacular views of the Himalayas. In Wang due, stop at Mehsina village & visit Chime Lhakhang - The Temple of Fertility built in 15th century by Lama Drukpa Kinley. (This monk is popularly known as the Divine Madman for his philosophy, “Salvation through sex”). Have your lunch and in afternoon drive to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan, and visit Punakha Dzong, which is noteworthy both for being one of the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan and also for having been built by the first Shabdrung in 1637. Also visit the  Punakha Suspension bridge - The  second longest  suspension bridge in  Bhutan , its perche cover the  Mo – chhu and Po Chhu river and is about 160-180meters in length – It’s one of the  oldest bridge in the world that connects Punakha Dzong to the rest of the valley - Overnight stay at  Punakha/Wangdue.

Day 5 - TRANSFER TO PARO + ON THE WAY SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast transfer to Paro – (Approx. 3hrs drive), covering some on way sightseeing. Every turn on the way comes with surprise and scenic view of the mountain and nature. Also visit the Paro airport view point and. Paro’s Main Street features shops on both sides, all crammed with brassware, silk and cotton scarves, incense sticks, silver filigree jewellery, gho (Bhutanese National Dress for Men) which can be matched with elaborately embroidered boots, kira (wrap-around sarong worn for Bhutanese Women) and prayer flags that one could string across any open space to seek blessings for loved ones and friend. Overnight in Paro.

Day 6 - Hike To Taktsang “Tiger's Nest”

After breakfast visit famous Taktsang Monastery - called “Tiger's Nest” (2hrs hike from the base camp) & Kitchu Monastery. Overnight stay will be at Paro.

OR

Excursion to Chele-La-Pass

(Distance: 35 kms. One way / Driving Time: 2 hrs. / Altitude of Chele-La-Pass: 3810 mts.) After breakfast excursion trip to Chele-La-Pass (13,088 ft.) – the highest motorable road in Bhutan. Enjoy the scenic beauty & memorable landscapes from Chele-La-Pass. Back to Paro. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Paro.

Day 7 - Paro local sightseeing & Transfer to Phuentsholing (India Bhutan Border)

(Distance: 145 kms. / Driving Time: 4.5 hrs. / Altitude of Phuentsholing: 450 mts.) After breakfast check out of your hotel and visit Paro local sightseeing like, Drukgyel Dzong, Ta Dzong (Ring Pong Dzong), Paro Airport View Point and local market after all this sightseeing travel back to Phuentsholing. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

Day 8 - Phuentsholing - NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport 160 kms in 04 hrs

Post breakfast, check out from Hotel and drive towards IXB / NJP. With lots of scenic beauty of his region and lovely moments, your heart will not allow you to leave this place but your destination in waiting for you. Our driver will drop you at NJP Railway Station / IXB Bagdogra Airport for further journey. Today your tour with Northeast Tour ends. Fly back with sweet memories of Northeast Tour.
