Trek to the iconic Double Decker Root Bridge in Cherrapunjee and marvel at its stunning waterfalls and caves. Continue to Assam's Kaziranga National Park for thrilling safaris and encounters with the one-horned rhino. Then ascend into Arunachal Pradesh, visiting the serene hill towns of Dirang and Tawang, crossing the majestic Sela Pass, and witnessing spiritual and historic landmarks like Tawang Monastery and Bumla Pass. Conclude your adventure with a spiritual visit to the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati. This journey blends nature, culture, adventure, and spirituality across three enchanting states of Northeast India.

Tour Plan

Day 1 - Guwahati to Shillong 110 kms in 03 hrs drive

On arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, assistance and warm welcome by our representative and drive towards Shillong, also known as ‘The Scotland of the East’ is the capital city of Meghalaya. En route you will visit the largest manmade lake of Northeast India – Umium Lake. Reaching Shillong after 03 hours journey (approximately), we check-in at a city Hotel. Evening is free for leisure or for shopping in the famous Police Bazaar in Shillong. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 2 - Mawlynnong & Dawki excursion

In the morning, you will proceed for a full day excursion to Dawki - International trade route border town of Dawki is a splendid drive passing through deep gorges and ravines, which is certainly a thrilling experience. Dawki is a beautiful place situated in the borders of Bangladesh and Meghalaya. You will also have an option of boating in the beautiful Dawki river.

Later you will be visiting Mawlynnong Village which has earned the distinction of being the Cleanest Village in Asia the picturesque village, offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Mawlynnong nestled in the pristine hill state of Meghalaya, is along the Indo-Bangla border. This adorable and colourful little village is known for its cleanliness. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 3 - At Cherrapunjee (Double Decker Root Bridge Trek) – Full Day

Wake up early, have healthy breakfast and go for trekking to the Double Decker living root bridge around 3500 steps may take 02 hrs one way. This tiring treks reward will be awesome. Then visit all natural water falls swimming pool and Rainbow Falls. Then check in at your Hotel / Resort. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.

Day 4 - Cherrapunjee Sightseeing and Guwahati transfer 170 kms in 05 hrs drive

Morning after breakfast explores Cherrapunjee which is famed for being the wettest place in the world. Cherrapunjee possesses some exotic waterfalls and impressive limestone caves. In Cherrapunjee, we visit the Nohkalikai Falls, Seven sister waterfalls, Mawsmai Caves, Rama Krishna Mission, Eco Park, Dainthlen Fall, Arwah cave, Garden cave. Later back to Guwahati. Overnight stay at Guwahati.

Day 5 - Guwahati to Kaziranga (210km/05hrs)

After breakfast, transfer to Kaziranga National Park. Kaziranga National Park and the heart of Assam, covering an area of 430 sq-kms, is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. In 1985, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its unique natural environment. Evening enjoy local cultural programme (Bihu Dance Show).Overnight stay in resort at Kaziranga.

Day 6 - Kaziranga Safari and Drive to Dirang

Wake up early and set out for an unforgettable morning elephant safari in Kaziranga. As the first light breaks over the misty grasslands, ride gently through the tall grasses on the back of an elephant, feeling an intimate closeness with the environment around you. The air is filled with the calls of exotic birds, and you might be lucky enough to spot the majestic one-horned rhino grazing calmly nearby, along with herds of deer and perhaps even a family of wild elephants. After the elephant safari, continue exploring the park with a jeep safari through the dense forests and wetlands, where you might encounter wild buffalo, various species of deer, and a plethora of birdlife.

With these thrilling experiences etched in your memory, begin your journey to Dirang, a charming hill station in Arunachal Pradesh known for its pleasant climate and beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival in Dirang, check in to your hotel and unwind for the evening.

Day 7 - Dirang to Tawang

Begin with a visit to the Dirang Monastery, a serene and spiritual place that offers stunning views of the surrounding valley. Continue your journey to Tawang, stopping en route at Jaswant Garh, a war memorial dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, who fought valiantly during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. As you drive further, you will cross the Sela Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world, known for its breathtaking views and the beautiful Sela Lake. Finally, visit the Nuranang Falls, a magnificent waterfall cascading down from the mountains. Arrive in Tawang by evening and check in to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 8 - Bumla Pass and Madhuri Lake or Tawang Local Sightseeing

Today, you have the option to explore either Bumla Pass or Madhuri Lake or enjoy local sightseeing in Tawang. If you choose to visit Bumla Pass, embark on a thrilling journey to this high-altitude pass, located near the Indo-China border, and admire the stunning landscapes along the way. Continue to Madhuri Lake, also known as Sangestar Tso, a serene lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Alternatively, for local sightseeing, visit the Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India, which offers a peaceful atmosphere and a rich cultural experience. Explore the Tawang War Memorial, dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the 1962 war, and visit other attractions such as the Tawang Emporium and local markets. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 9 - Tawang to Bomdila

Begin your day with a local sightseeing tour of Tawang, visiting the Tawang Monastery, the largest Buddhist monastery in India, which houses a vast collection of ancient scriptures, thangkas, and a 28-foot-high golden statue of Lord Buddha. Next, visit the Tawang War Memorial, a tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Also, explore the local markets for souvenirs and traditional handicrafts. After the tour, embark on a drive to Bomdila, a quaint town nestled in the hills. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax for the evening.

Day 10 - Bomdila to Guwahati 270 kms in 07-08 hrs drive

Today morning after breakfast, checked out from the hotel and drive back to Guwahati. Reached Guwahati check in at city hotel, evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Guwahati.

Day 11 - Guwahati Airport drop

Early Morning after breakfast visit the famous Maa Kamakhya Temple on the Nilachal Hills (10kms) – a seat of the tantric cult in India and one of the 108 Shakti Peethas in the country. Later transfer to Guwahati Airport for the onward journey. Today your tour with Northeast Tour ends. Fly back with sweet memories of Northeast Tour. Stay happy and stay blessed.
